Increase your donation to us at no extra cost with Gift Aid!

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid is a government scheme that allows registered charities to reclaim the tax paid on donations made in the last four years and into the future.  This means you can increase your donation by 25p for every £1 you donate at no extra cost to you!

How does Gift Aid work?

If you are a UK tax payer and not already using an alternative tax scheme such as the Charities Aid Foundation or Payroll Giving, we are able to take your donation (which is money you've already paid tax on) and reclaim the basic rate of tax from HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) on the amount you donated before the tax was deducted.

Basic rate tax is currently 20% - so if you donate £10 using Gift Aid, it will be worth £12.50 to us if you’ve signed up for Gift Aid.

Gift Aid can only be claimed on donations from individuals, sole traders or partnerships paid in any of the following forms:

  • cash
  • cheque
  • direct debit
  • credit or debit card
  • postal order 
  • standing order

If you pay higher rate tax you can claim extra relief on your donations. If you claim age-related allowances or tax credits, Gift Aid donations can sometimes increase your entitlement.

You are also able to support more than one UK charity using the Gift Aid scheme providing you complete a declaration for each charity.

How to set up Gift Aid

To make a Gift Aid Declaration, just print out and complete the Gift Aid Declaration Form (PDF) and return to us at our freepost address:
