Susanna MasonSusanna Mason, Director General Commercial at the Ministry of Defence, has today embarked on a 195-mile walk from the north-west to the north-east coast of England to raise money for The Royal British Legion Women’s Section.

She is embarking on this two-week walking challenge for the Women’s Section because it is a charity close to her heart, “I am keen to give back to the women participating in serving our country.” The route for this walk stretches the width of the country, starting at St Bees in Cumbria and finishing at Robin Hood’s Bay in Flyingthorpe. It will take her through the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales National Park and the North York Moors National Park.

Susanna will be accompanied by her childhood best friend, Julie North. Being united in their love of a good challenge, Susanna said, “I cannot think of a better way to push ourselves and give back to the women who have served our county.”

Their journey begins on 17 April and finishes on 2 May 2015. “I am hoping to raise £2,000 but would love to beat the target!”
