Women's Skydiving World Record 2009On Day 1, the World Record attempt was adjusted from 130 women skydiving to 120 to allow for a group of reserves. This was just as well as two skydivers had to drop out in the first two days due to injury. One lady damaged her Achilles tendon on exit from the plane and another “popped her knee” on landing. Freddie is confident she does not plan to join them!

“All is going well at this end. The event so far in summary: 7 jumps completed with various sections of the formation. A good two days’ flying for me and very hot!”

Watch videos of two jumps from Day 2 here: Women's Skydiving World Record Day 2

In the first video Freddie is leaving the lead aircraft and as the formation builds she approaches from the bottom of the screen in her black jumpsuit and yellow helmet. She eventually holds on to the leg of a lady in a pink jumpsuit.

On Day 3, the potential record-breakers practiced transitions to the second formation by doing 30-way jumps (jumps with 30 skydivers).

More updates and videos to follow on Freddie's progress in the 2014 Women’s Skydiving World Record attempt at Perris Skydiving, California. The event is taking place from 12 to 18 October. Go here for the full story.
