On Saturday 10th November you are invited to take part in a very special local run – The Royal British Legion’s first-ever Run2Remember.

Held in Lydiard Park near Royal Wootton Bassett, the run is a chance to get everyone together to complete a great sporting challenge, have fun and raise funds for a great cause.

Designed for people of all ages you can run, jog, walk or march either 11km or 1.1km and raise essential funds to support the Legion. You can complete the fun run on your own, or enter as a team (maximum of 10). Not only is the run a great new way to raise funds for our heroic Service men, women and their families, but it’s also an opportunity to get fit and be a part of a very special day in honour of our very brave service heroes.

You can choose the distance that suits you best. For the more enthusiastic runners there’s the 11km race that takes you around the beautiful parkland of Lydiard Park. Or you might prefer the gentler challenge of the 1.1km fun-run.

By signing up to the Run2Remember, you can also set-up a special tribute fund page. Here you can upload photos and special memories of your loved one, or, if you’re running in memory of all those who have Served, you can pay tribute to them here too. You can also share your training diary and there’s space for friends and family to sponsor you and write messages of support.

It costs £15 to register for the 11km run or £5 for the 1.1km fun run and every penny raised in sponsorship will help more than nine million people who are eligible for the Legion’s support.
